CAMP Ski Mountaineering Race at Crested Butte - Jan. 18th update

The Colorado Classic is coming in just two weeks. COSMIC is pleased to announce that CAMP has assumed title sponsorship of Colorado's oldest event: the CAMP Ski Mountaineering Race at Crested Butte. Competitors can look forward to strong support of this favorite event with plenty of CAMP prizes.

At this time considering snow conditions it looks likely course will not be finalized until the night prior to the event. Snow is forecast for Crested Butte all week, so stay tuned. Whatever conditions bring us, CB will continue to be one of the most demanding courses in the COSMIC series.

SIA Snow Show Uphill/Downhill Challenge - February 1st Winter Park CO

The SIA Snowshow Uphill/Downhill Challenge starts at the center of the ski universe - the SIA On-Snow Demo at 2pm on Monday, February 1st.

Follow a marked 1,700' skin track up to the Sunspot Lodge, then descend a marked course via bumps, trees and few surprises back to the base area. Entry is free but we welcome donations to the USSMA. Call it a race, call it a FUN-draiser, grab two friends to make a team and come on out.

Teams of three from ski shops, ski companies and ski areas are welcome, but any combo of three people makes a team. Teams don't need to stay together during the race, at the finish the times of all three team members will be added together. The fastest individual will recieve a pair of Scarpa F1 Carbon boots!

All donations received go to the US National Ski Mountaineering team going to the World Championships in Andorra March 1st-6th 2010.
